Cave Story 3D is a Nintendo 3DS game that originally was a freeware platform-adventure video game released in 2004 for the PC. It was developed, designed, and programmed over five years entirely by Daisuke Amaya, art-name Pixel, in his free time. Intended as homage to the classic games that Pixel played in his youth, such as Metroid and Castlevania. Since then under publisher Nippon Ichi Software, this game has undergone some music and visual upgrades.
The story starts with a silent character that wakes up in a cave to find his mission is stopping the Doctor who is getting all the cave dwellers to fight for this bad person so he can take over the world. We thought it would be nice to get an overall review of other opinions about this game.

have rated this B+ giving the impression that this game does not offer much more than the original, yet this is an entertaining game on the whole. This game contains plenty of action at a rapid pace with lots going on so starting at easy setting can help with progression. There are some added improvements including the 3D technology and different endings to overcome. As a new addition to the 3DS, this is worthwhile, as for free use on the PC, there is not much difference in gameplay.

, Cave Story 3D has been given a score of 4.3 out of 5. The pricing aspect is also brought into question here and other than a touched up look to the game there was more expected from the 3D version. As there are not many games on this console that are as fast- paced this is still a fun game to experience. Cave Story 3D has been given a thumbs up as one of best indie games from the past.

gave this game an overall 8.5, noting that this game is one of those games that remind you of those 80s and 90s classics and if you like them you are on the right track with this. The gameplay is much the same as the original with floaty jumps so you can change direction in mid air. Users will be pleased with themselves when they locate weapons, perfecting those jumps for special challenge stages will assist them when it comes to the great ending. The end conclusion also looked into the price, yet found this game very rewarding.

loved Cave Story 3D and loved the original version, stressing that this is a great game on any platform. Impressed by the updated art in many places, there are various parts that seem to have been missed making it hard work to find things in darker areas even though areas that you are familiar with take on a completely new captivating look. Apparently new areas can sometimes seem more 2.5D and the difficulty settings have found another user that would prefer to play it easy. With branching paths fully optional weapons, bosses and areas this game is up there as a fun and satisfying game on any platform.
As a few reviewers have commented about the money side at $40 as there might not be much difference as far as gameplay is concerned with regards to the free PC version. The overall outcome showed that this is a fun action game. Do you think $40 is a bit costly? If it were not free on the PC, Cave Story 3D would have probably scored higher marks. Surely, the idea is to have a great game to play on the move and add to your Nintendo 3DS collection.
