Summary
- Object Placement: Greatly speed up your level creation by placing your prefabs using the mouse. Scale, rotate and offset easily with the mouse and hotkeys.
- Snapping System: The Octave3D pivot point based snapping system enables you to quickly build environments out of modular prefabs. You can also stitch objects together by enabling the object to object snap feature.
- Prefab Painting: The paint tools enable you to place objects on meshes and terrains quickly and efficiently. You can also use brushes for multi-prefab placement thus allowing you to quickly place vegetation, rocks, debris and the like.
- Prefab Management: Manage your library of prefabs using a system which allows you to organize by categories and tags. This, together with the prefab name filter, makes using prefabs much more efficient. In addition to that, you can also pick prefabs directly from the scene view using hotkeys.
- Mirror Function: When building environments that are symmetrical, you can use a feature called mirroring to speed up the process and avoid doing the same thing twice.
- Mesh Combine: Use the mesh combine feature to reduce draw calls and create optimized levels out of the box.
